Solomia Lukyanets is a 14 years old Ukrainian opera singer. She was born on April 24, 2001 in Kiev, where she lived her early childhood. Solomia currently lives in Berlin, Germany.

Solomia has claimed a lot of titles and won many competitions but she is mostly famous through her participation in The Voice Kids in its Ukrainian and German editions.

Despite her participation in The Voice Kids Germany not being her biggest career achievement in terms of titles and rankings (i.e. not making it to the semi finals); it is, in my personal opinion, the greatest stage (so far) of her very successful and very promising career.

Andrea Bocelli – Time To Say Goodbye (Solomia)

“Time to say Goodbye” is a perfect song to showcase Solomia’s Brilliant talent and the beauty of her voice. She delivered that song flawlessly on the 2nd episode of the blind auditions of the Voice Kids Germany on 6th March of 2015. All three judges turned their chairs; one of the judges, Lena, burst into tears while listening to Solomia’s brilliant vocals. As always, popular Youtube videos are pirated all over the web and end up having hundreds of copies on Youtube, Facebook and other Video  sites. Knowing that, the most popular copies of Solomia’s performance of “Time to say Goodbye” have more than 6 million views on Youtube alone.

Needless to say, Solomia moved forward to the battle rounds and that is where things got interesting. Please watch Duy, Solomia and Sophie battling it out while singing “Bring me to life” for Evanescence.

Evanescence – Bring Me To Life (Duy, Solomia, Sophie)

Duy, Solomia and Sophie’s rendition of Evanescence is a statement of brilliance of the German talent. I am referring here to The Voice Kids Germany for their creativity and genius in coaching these three rock stars and in blending a wonderful mix of dark metal (Sophie), classic rock (Duy) and an operatic voice (Solomia). I love the original version of Evanescence’s “Bring me to Life”, but I love this newer and unique version even more than the original one.

The judge chose Sophie as his favorite and Solomia didn’t make it to the Semi Finals despite her great performance. Don’t be sad though, Solomia has had a big share of titles and victories and she has a lot to look up to in her future career. According to Solomia’s Facebook page, she has already secured the following:

• 1st place in the World of talents (Kiew,Ukraine) in 2005
• 1st place in the World of talents International in 2006
• 1st place in the Magic Candle International in 2007
• 1st place in the New Wave Junior in 2009
• 1st place in the International competition of young opera singer by Elena Obrastzova in 2010
• 2nd Place in the Voice Kids Ukraine  in 2012

Additionally, according to Solomia’s Wikipedia Russian page Лукьянец, Соломия Андреевна, she has received the “Pride of the Country” award in the category “rare talent” for year 2010 which is presented annually by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

Going back in time to years 2012, Solomia, at the age of 11, participated in the The Voice Kids Ukraine and she won the second place, below videos are three of her performances during the competition:

Here is something interesting about the Diva Dance performance, according to the IMDB’s trivia on the 5th Element:

When composer Eric Serra showed soprano Inva Mula (who dubs the voice of the Diva) the sheet music for the Diva Dance, she reportedly smiled and relayed to him that some of the notes written were not humanly possible to achieve because the human voice cannot change notes that fast. Hence, she performed the notes in isolation – one by one, as opposed to consecutively singing them all together and they digitized the notes to fit the music. There are a few moments when you can hear the differences in the vocal tones of The Diva’s voice.

Both Victoria Hovhannisyan and Solomia Lukyanets have performed these notes without any digital editing or enhancements. This says a lot about both prodigies’ vocal abilities.
